And as faith would have it the all played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Needless to say the Brooklyn Dodgers is the team that broke the color barrier with Jackie Robinson on their team. The book is also about what happened to Mr Robinson in baseball, as well as Carl Erskine, Pee Wee Reese after they could no longer play. Last but not least the book addresses the young reporter that grew up near Ebbets Field. And had the pleasure of reporting on the Brooklyn Dodgers.
