Mariam Meade’s novel Madame Blavatsky an Occultist and founder of the Theosophical Society . Born in Russia 1831-1891. Prior to this she travels extensively, to Asia, Europe, Tibet and America studying Occultism and Spirituality. Then in 1877 she published a major work ISIS. In the book she criticize the science of religion. And asserted that the mystical experience and doctrine are the means to attain spirituality.However the society did not get a foot hold in America.
In 1879 she and a companion Mr. Olcott moved to India , there they established the Theosophical Society Head Quarters, at Adyar, near Madras.There they began publication of the Society’s journal.The Theosophist, that she edited from 1879-1888. A strong following develops in India.
