However, she is ambitious and smart. On the other hand, her school mate Amelia Seddley a well to do, Victorian woman from a wealthy family. Needless to say, in the story one person is taking advantage of another. However, the author does not see a problem with that, since losing is vanity and winning is vanity as well.
