Ernest Renan  born France  in 1823.  He had many areas  of interest including : philosophy, language, history, religion, and  he was  also  a fierce critic of many of his peers.  Renin wrote extensively about nationalism and national identity. Renan was religious , with a different a kind of philosophy . He did not belong to an established faith but  thought about  a superior force.  He believes  in the development of self and the human race. Renan is a scholar in his own right. He made a valuable contribution to various fields of study and humanity.
