The Counterfeiters Andre Guides novel has many plots. The main one looks at adolescent behavior in society. As well as the role morality and values play in their lives. Needless to say, teens want to be authentic, not to live their lives in falsehood. Also, they dislike being counterfeit. Additionally social forms of society dominate their lives. As in the case of Oliver and Bernard the main characters in the story. They both love literature as they are enthusiastic about life. However, Bernard is mentally and psychologically stronger than Oliver. So, he can be disadvantaged. And might fall apart. His friend the opposite.
